Westwind - 20kW Wind Turbine| Westwind Wind Turbines in Northern Ireland, formerly Perth Australia, manufactures 3kW, 5kW, 10kW & 20kW turbines suitable for on and off grid installations. The turbines are built to a high standard with an excellent finish, not always found in the micro market. What's also impressed us is that most of the components are fabricated on or near site, thereby reducing supply chain issues. All Westwind wind turbines consist of three blades, up-wind of the tower on a horizontal axis and attached directly to a sealed permanent magnet generator. Having no gearbox means that there are less part's to wear and less friction to be overcome by the blades. Resulting in earlier start-up in light winds, more power produced and less maintenance than designs using gearboxes. In particular, we have focused on their two larger turbines which typically fit the markets we are active in - private and public sector organisations. The 10kW and 20kW (nominal) turbines are available on monopole towers ranging from 15 - 24m and they could suit applications such as: - Light industry
- Out of town retail
- Large farms
- Communities
- Local authorities
- Schools
- Remote locations
